Hungarian TV operator Magyar Telekom's TV service gave it something to cheer about in what was clearly a disappointing third quarter for the company. Magyar Telecom's DTH (direct-to-home) platform had 121,563 new users in the fourth quarter of the year, while its IPTV (Internet Protocol television) service's uptake increased to 53,176 from 18,580. The firm's total TV user base, meanwhile, increased 34 percent to 583,936. Magyar's other IPTV services, which were launched in Macedonia and Montenegro, also did well in the quarter.
