NSW: Two charged after truckload of alcohol stolen
SYDNEY, Dec 6 AAP - Police have charged two men after a stolen semi-trailer laden with
about half a million dollars worth of alcohol was recovered in Sydney's west today.
The goods were discovered about 3.20am (AEDT) today after police attended a residence
in Niblo Street, Doonside, in response to a noise complaint.
A number of men who had been loading boxes into the semi-trailer, fled as officers
arrived, police said in a statement earlier today.
Police later charged two Blacktown men with theft.
The men, aged 23 and 26, will appear in Blacktown Local Court later today.
Earlier, police estimated the value of the alcohol at $1 million, but have since revised
the figure to about $500,000.
Police would not confirm the type of alcohol involved, or whether other people were
being sought in relation to the theft.
