Vic: Private health insurance rates to rise by 6pc: report
MELBOURNE, Jan 13 AAP - Millions of Australians with private health insurance are reportedlyfacing premium rises averaging about 6 per cent from March.
Health funds applied for the increases last week, telling the federal government thathigher premiums were needed to cover soaring health costs, The Age said today.
MBF, the country's second biggest fund, covering more than 1.6 million people, wasseeking increases of about 7 per cent, the paper said.
And Medibank Private had confirmed it had applied for price rises.
